SHK Music Presents: Julien Kasper's Live Record Release at Boston Harbor Distillery
Last April, Julien Kasper and his band recorded an amazing live performance at the Distillery. On December 6th we will celebrate the release of the resulting album - "Julien Kasper Band Live at the Boston Harbor Distillery" Those in attendance will be the first to have access to this recording which features six of the best tracks recorded that night.
Acclaimed guitar virtuoso Julien Kasper is a unique musician who has absorbed multiple genres into his musical DNA – rock, jazz, blues, funk, classical – to create a voice as a composer and improviser that is truly his own. If you are a fan of Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, and other eclectic, soulful instrumental music, you will not want to miss this show!
Performing with Julien will be:
* Zac Casher on drums – his ability to create personal and commanding grooves in a variety of styles makes him one of the most sought-after drummers in New England
* Jesse Williams on bass – one of the best around – playing with likes of the North Mississippi Allstars, Jimmy Vivino, Susan Tedeschi, Duke Robillard, Al Kooper, J Geils among many others
* Daniela Schächter on keys - an award winning musician and Berklee professor of both piano and voice, she has has performed in both Europe and the US as a headliner and sharing the stage with such notables as Randy Brecker, Terri Lyne Carrington, Patti Austin, Christian McBride, and Shirley Horn to name a few.
Julien Kasper was born in France, raised in the American South, and resides in the Boston area. Julien is a professor on the guitar faculty at Berklee College of Music.
“Exquisite tones, masterful execution, innate soulfulness…” - Guitar Player Magazine
“Kasper’s grasp of dynamics and tone as well as his anything-goes approach is in the best tradition of Jeff Beck but his affinity for the harmonic fringe calls to mind John Scofield.” - Guitar Edge Magazine
