John Cate & the Van Gogh Brothers

John Cate & the Van Gogh Brothers (Paul Candilore, Clayton Young, Andy Plaisted) have carried the flame of roots/Americana music since 1995. Based in Boston with offshoot projects in LA with Scarlet Rivera (Bob Dylan), the band has recently hunkered down in a lifetime residency at, fittingly, Vincent’s, in Worcester, Massachusetts. The band is now promoting its 17th album, self-titled, ”The van Gogh Brothers.” The album was recorded at Woolly Mammoth in Waltham, Studio Bopnique in Los Angeles, and in Berlin, Germany. Longtime producers David Minehan and Anthony J. Resta helmed the project. Guests include local heroes Stu Kimball (Bob Dylan), Cliff Goodwin (Joe Cocker), and rapper and writing partner RAL of Brooklyn, NY. Also featured is David Friedman, of Tim Buckley fame, on vibraphone. The van Gogh Brothers’ music is featured in over 200 network and cable television shows (NCIS, American Idol, Sons of Anarchy) and in several independent films. Publishing is handled by Heavy Hitters Music in Los Angeles.
