Geneviève Racette - Canadian Folk Music Awards recipient Geneviève Racette captivates listeners with her gentle interpretations. Renowned on the international folk scene, she collaborated on stage and in the studio with City and Colour, received praise from Tom Paxton (recipient of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award), and accumulated over 4 million streams and numerous media appearances (Rolling Stone, CBC, Entertainment Tonight, etc.). Over the past two years, Geneviève has headlined over a hundred venues across Canada and the United States.
Partly written in Nashville, her new album "Golden" transcends the artist's personal trials, offering a path to healing through music. In the midst of a period of turmoil, this album becomes her refuge, where she transforms her grief into something beautiful and deeply comforting, as illustrated in the eponymous song. Universal themes such as friendship, resilience, healing, sobriety and personal transformation are explored. Accompanied by her guitar and all-female band made up of musicians Judith Little Daudelin (percussion, voice) and Eleonore Pitre (electric guitar), the Montreal-based artist is now exporting her music across North America and beyond.
