Cecilia Vacanti is a multi-style fiddler based in Boston, MA. She plays fiddle music for dances, and has a strong foundation in pop, rock and jazz, as well as in improvisation and tune-writing. Cecilia’s distinctive sound and imaginative improvisation keeps her in demand in the singer-songwriter scene and a sought-after collaborator for folk dances all over the Northeast. She was a founding member of indie-folk group Old Tom & the Lookouts, and she currently plays in the electrifying, nationally touring contra dance band Kingfisher. Cecilia’s upcoming debut solo album, Earth’s Dark Shore, presents a fresh collection of original music influenced by the contemporary acoustic string-band genre, and features an impressive cast of musicians from the New England music scene. Earth’s Dark Shore is a breathtaking musical journey across a deep sea of tradition and through the wilds of imaginative invention. It will be released in September on Adhyâropa Records.

So Blue is a progressive folk duo that blends sensitive instrumentals with evocative lyricism. With earthy vocals, dynamic guitar, and rich string bass, the group creates timeless songs that speak to our shared humanity – the good and the bad. The band, consisting of Devon Gardner on vocals/guitar and Adam Gurczak on double bass, released its debut EP, In Water and Waves, in April 2024. A five-track melancholic folk EP, In Water and Waves, features five original songs, telling stories about love, loss, and (as many can relate to) bad roommates. Ambient bowed string bass paired with poignant guitar serve as the bedrock on the album, over which lyrics tell personal and intimate stories. Inspired by the likes of Watchhouse, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Courtney Marie Andrews, their music harkens to the nature-inspired roots of Americana blended with classical and contemporary songs, sounds, and stories.
Originally having met in the sun-soaked Arizona desert, bandleaders Devon Gardner and Adam Gurczak now call the bustling streets of Boston home. Whether playing as a duo or in compliments of three or four with other artists, So Blue offers songs of solace, inviting you to find beauty in the wilds.
