Bootleg Dan Presents: Stop Calling Me Frank, The Cynz, Shaggahs

Stop Calling Me Frank - A plumber, teacher, engineer, artist, contracter and president of the local painters union walk into a bar... they never came out. Born from Boston’s scrappy, DIY punk and indie rock scene, Stop Calling Me Frank plays like a band drunk on Stax R&B, Stiff Records pub-rock, and the best 60s garage punk. But their gritty, hometown-sound remains unique. As Boston Groupie News writes, “They never have followed any perceived guidelines as to what was trendy or popular; they did what they wanted.” What they want is to rock you with their addictive, high-energy tunes, whether at their raucous live shows, or on their new releases for Rum Bar Records. Perfect for fans of the Fleshtones, the Cramps, the Ramones, the Flamin’ Groovies, the Black Lips, and the Dirt Bombs.
THE CYNZ - CYNDI DAWSON is a visual on-stage tsunami, period. She leads the band through shamanic rock & roll rites of passage. Her raw, emotional stage presence along with the band’s edgy, powerful vibe is truly an experience. THE CYNZ' influences derive from the late '70s Lower East Side NYC chainsaw music of the RAMONES and the tough, gritty vibe of The MC5, ALICE COOPER and MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS.
THE CYNZ have also opened for legendary acts such as the reformed BLUES MAGOOS, THE FLESHTONES, THE DICTATORS NYC, THE SPLIT SQUAD, MARTHA DAVIS & THE MOTELS, IVAN JULIAN, SONNY VINCENT, THE VIBRATORS, BILLY RATH'S STREET PIRATES, WARRIOR SOUL, WALTER LURE & THE WALDOS, ISN LLOYD, and THE ZERO’S.
The Cynz have been honored with top ten songs across multiple radio charts from NYC to Los Angeles, UK, Spain, Australia and more.
SHAGGAHS (pron.Shagis) is a boston- based celtic-punk band formed in 1991 by 2 members of the legendary band Stop Calling Me Frank. This high energy band with its clever riffs and honest songwriting predates the Dropkick Murphys by 3 years. Not saying SHAGGAHS influenced the Dropkicks but founding members Ken Casey and Rick Barton were in the crowd in the early years when SHAGGAHS rocked Chet's Last Call. The band stopped playing in 1994, doing a couple of memorial shows over the years. In 2024 Rumbar Records agreed to release an album of the early recording titled Extra Stout Boston Ma. The songs got a good amount of play internationally including Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius XM. The band has since reformed with a new line-up.
$20 in advance. $25 at the door.
