SHK Music Presents: The Third Annual Boston Harbor Distillery Blues Fest

SHK Music and the Boston Blues Society are thrilled to be co-hosting the Third Annual Boston Harbor Distillery Blues Festival. We’ve got 3 great bands performing this year – Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, the Frank EB Band and the Racky Thomas Band! The Erin Harpe Country Blues Duo will be performing between sets (outside weather permitting) and we will have a food truck on hand for this special event. Get your tickets early for this one!
Sugar Ray Norcia is a singer, harpman, member of the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, three-time Grammy Nominee, and the winner & nominee for way too many other music awards to list. He formed Sugar Ray and the Bluetones in 1979 and over the years in addition to headlining many shows on their own, they also recorded, performed and/or appeared with some of Chicago’s most famous blues legends including: Junior Wells. Otis Rush, Big Joe Turner, and Hubert Sumlin.
Blues Blast Magazine once referred to them as “a formidable band and may be one of the finest in the world top to bottom!” In their review of their 2020 album, Blues Junction said “A song by song review of this album would just be an orgy of superlatives.” In reference to their latest album (2025) ‘Blues From Sibculo’, Blues Blast stated “it’s wonderful to have a new album from one of the great blues combos …blending the band’s signature sound of Chicago blues with elements of cajun, rockabilly and even cowboy music!”

Frank EB (aka Frank Maneiro & Frankie Boy) has won the Annual Blues Challenge three times with Granite State and again with this year’s Boston Blues Society Challenge enabling his bands to represent our region four times at the Annual International Competition in Memphis. Frank is an accomplished vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and a captivating solo performer and bandleader. He’ll be bringing the full Frank EB Band to play us a mix of originals and covers, with sounds ranging from blues to soul, rock to Hip-Hop and more.

The Racky Thomas Band is a long-time SHK Favorite after headlining a number of great shows at the Distillery. The band features Pete Henderson on guitar, Michael Avery on drums, Matt McCabe on piano, bassist Russell Keyes, with our friend Racky Thomas leading the charge on vocals and harmonica. This group of veteran musicians have drawn on a wide range of influences to develop what has evolved into a delicious musical ‘gumbo’ of blues, gospel, country blues, boogie, and fifties rock and roll. Always a great time.

Adding some serious extra spice this year, the award-winning Erin Harpe and her Country Blues Duo will be providing the intra-set entertainment! Erin and husband Jim will be joining this event after returning from a mini-Southern tour with stops in Memphis and Clarksdale. They will undoubtedly be playing cuts from their recently released, award nominated album tribute to Mississippi John Hurt.
