SHK Music Presents: Luiza Girardello and Flora at Boston Harbor Distillery
We are thrilled to be bringing Luiza Girardello and her great band back to the Distillery for the 3rd time. Luiza was raised in an artistic family in Brazil but she hesitated to pursue music professionally, until a pivotal period of her life reshaped everything. Amid a battle with cancer and a mental health crisis, she wrote her first original song between chemotherapy sessions, marking the moment she fully embraced music as both refuge and purpose.
Brazilian-born, Boston-based Luiza Girardello is a singer-songwriter whose work defies easy categorization, blending the rhythmic pulse of South America with the raw energy of alternative rock, the sophistication of jazz, and the emotional immediacy of Latin-inspired melodies. Her 2024 New England Songwriting Contest win for “I See You” (Jazz/Blues) showcased her gift for merging intricate musicality with lyrical vulnerability. We're very thrilled to have her and her band back at this Distillery - and particularly excited to get to listen to some of the music that will be featured on her upcoming debut album

Flora is a Boston-based instrumental progressive metal band also featuring Berklee graduates. They strive to push forward the boundaries of music by crafting emotive compositions that engage the listener, creating a sound that is as visceral as it is cerebral. Blending dizzying rhythms, lush harmonies, and soulful melodies, Flora delivers a dynamic and unpredictable sonic landscape that resists convention. They are currently working on their debut album.
