Scituate native Ward Hayden and his band, the Outliers (aka WHATO) are something of an international sensation. While they are inextricably based in Massachusetts, they have frequently taken their "distinctive take on C&W with a rock’n’roll kick" across the US and Europe. We at SHK are thrilled they are coming back to the Distillery, squeezing us in between their return to Scandinavia for 20+ shows and a follow-up tour through Belgium, France and Spain.

Ward has taken his lifelong love of country music and approached it in ever evolving ways... WHATO (formerly GGG - Girls, Guns and Glory) have written a vast assortment of original music over the years including their 2023 release called "South Shore" - a truly cool album of original songs that express Ward's connection with his local upbringing via "amber-soaked melodies, tight musicianship, and casual elegance” (Boston Globe). They have also honored a couple of superstars - Ward interprets Hank Williams like few others and the band's early 2025 release is an homage to Bruce Springsteen's music, with unique countrified interpretations of a number of the Boss's songs. Keeping ever creatively busy, they have a new original album just out called "Piece by Piece". We cannot wait to have this phenomenal band return to the Distillery so we can experience whatever musical feast they will be cooking up for us.

Opening this special evening will be Other Brother Darryl. If you have never heard of these guys, prepare to be very impressed. Winners of 2024 Boston Music Award Country Artist of the Year, this band has blown away a number of audiences and critics. A few reviews of their debut album:
