Glowbox blends hook laden melodies, vocal harmonies, and walls of guitars to create energetic, infectious power pop. Their latest album, Bland Ambition, just recently released, was included in several prominent “best of” lists and the songs were hailed by Canada’s Poprock Record as having “strong melody baked into every tune – the band fuzz out on the sound without diminishing the hooks, elevating (the) songs”. With four albums under their belts, the band has received glowing reviews both at home and around the globe. Since their formation in 2013, they’ve played countless shows around New England, been included on several compilations and tribute albums, and played opening slots for international touring acts. Devil Love creates music that is a 21st century sound blurring the lines between '90s alt-rock, '70s rhythmic crunch, and the savvy songwriting of Big Star and Elliott Smith. The group has its own brand of hook-heavy pop/rock - a modern sound that nods to the best parts of the past, fusing the melodies of front man Peter Buzzelle — a longtime member of Boston's songwriting community — with the thick guitars and stomping percussion of a full-throttle indie-rock band. In addition to Buzzelle, the band is comprised of drummer, Chuck Ferreira; lead guitarist, Ken Rothman; and bass player, Jason Raffi. Led by Buzzelle's songwriting, the group has recorded two full-length records: 2021, Broken Things and in 2023, Devil Love (Red on Red Records), working with studio pros like Matthew Ellard (Elliott Smith, Wilco), and Benny Grotto (Magnetic Fields, Dresden Dolls) along the way. Devil Love’s latest release is the top 10 single on The Sound Cove label called “Tell Me You Love Me”.
