Ella McDonald (they/she) is a Boston-based musician and songwriter whose intimate, emotionally resonant performances glide between from haunting to healing in the same breath. Rooted in the New York City folk scene, they bring a fresh, authentic voice along with powerful songs of growth, resilience and healing—for ourselves and our world. In 2022, Ella suffered a brain injury that left them unable to read, write, or play music for several months and with a long healing journey ahead. In 2026, Ella is excited to return to music and offer us their most vulnerable and moving work yet, reminding audiences that hope is a discipline.
