SHK Music Presents: Delanie Pickering at Boston Harbor Distillery
Martha’s Vineyard guitarist and singer Delanie Pickering brings her soulful voice, fiery guitar playing, and deep love of the blues to Boston Harbor Distillery for a special early-evening headline performance.
A native of Concord, New Hampshire, Pickering began teaching herself guitar as a teenager, inspired by blues legends including Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and George Thorogood. By 18, she was already performing at clubs and festivals and had released her first album, Down Not Home.
Since moving to Martha’s Vineyard in 2017, Pickering has become a prominent part of the Island's music scene. She is the guitarist and vocalist with the legendary Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and has also performed with Rosie’s Ritzy Revue, the Black-Eyed Susans and Outskirts. Her playing draws from Chicago and Texas blues, with touches of swing and New Orleans flavor.
For this special Boston appearance, Pickering will be joined by an exceptional band of New England musicians: Jeremy Berlin on keyboards, Mark Teixeira on drums, and legendary bassist Mudcat Ward.
