SHK is proud to present Jared Sims' Hellbender, a powerhouse, groove-heavy supergroup that blurs the lines between heavy funk, psychedelic rock, and high-octane improvisation.
While rooted in deep musical expertise, this isn't highbrow, esoteric jazz—it’s dynamic, loud, fun and built for anyone who loves raw instrumental energy, massive grooves, and epic guitar jams.

A Triple-Guitar Assault: showcasing three of Boston's master guitarists—Andrew Stern, Steve Fell and Jeffrey Lockhart—trading explosive solos, soaring textures, and relentless, interlocking riffs.
An Irresistible Rhythm Section: anchored by Randy Wooten’s driving drums, Jesse Williams’ deep-pocket bass, and James Rohr’s soulful keys to keep the energy locked in and danceable.
A mind-bending Electro-Sax: Jared Sims leads the charge on sax and pedals, pushing sax tones through effects to create sonic landscapes that feel closer to a heavy jam band or progressive rock show than a traditional jazz set.
